Feast on This
The word of God is our food. It feeds our spirit. When we are nervous, we can read His word and be relaxed. We should be anxious for nothing. When we are afraid, we can read and be calmed. Based on the notion that God has not given us the spirit of fear. When we feel alone, we can read and be fulfilled. We will be reminded that God will never leave us nor forsake us. When we decide to accept Christ as our Savior and serve God, we commit to a powerful relationship.
Staying focused on the word of God allows us to see His will for us and reveals His way to get there. If we starve our spirit, our flesh gets stronger. Living in the flesh leads to destruction. We miss out on the best things God has for us in this life.I believe that we all exercise caution to some degree when it comes to commitment. This is natural. The Bible states that perfect love drives out fear. So what do we have to lose?
To love God and commit to Him means that we will experience a type of love that cannot be matched. His love will fill us and spill over to those around us. It will draw others to us that seek God. We won’t have to look for mates, friends, or companions. The God in us will attract the God in them. In order to increase the love, a time investment must be made. If we give God more time than we give the world, our lives would be so much better. We cannot simply read the word, it has to dwell within and become a part of who we are.
